5 star rating“Amazing holiday” We were a party of 10 adults, 1 child, 2 toddlers and 2 dogs who decided to all get away together and hire a big house in Scotland. The lodge is much more than just a big house though. Its stunning inside and out. The views over loch katrine are incredible, the house is very well presented and seems to have everything we could need. Every room is spacious and well decorated, the games room with pool table was a very nice touch.

The road that leads to the lodge can be a little daunting at first but within days we were used to it. The surrounding area is stunning, we took full advantage of the crusies on Loch Katrine & Loch Lomond + also managed to fit in trips Callander, Stirling, Edinburgh and Gleneagles. Although i could have happily stayed at the lodge and admired the views from the doorstep they are that good.

Graham was especially helpful in the lead up to our stay with a very informative email covering everything we could need and was always quick to respond with any question we had.

Many thanks Graham & Cath

5 star rating“Brilliant property for a big group of friends or family” This is a large property with lots of room for everyone! There's a large well appointed kitchen/dining area, a big comfortable lounge and a games room in addition to the many bedrooms.
Large halls and landings and stairs that are not too steep make this fine for any older folk that stay.
The quality of the whole place is excellent.

The views over Loch Katrine are sublime and can be enjoyed from the large grounds. we found it ideal for the kids who enjoyed running around up and down between the upper and lower garden areas. There is a reasonable sized wall preventing children from falling into the loch so we had no concerns on this front. We all enjoyed watching the boat arrive at the pier although we didn't do the boat trip.

The Pier tearoom is a very short walk away and serves the most amazing bacon rolls. We didn't go there until our last day and wish now that we had gone there more frequently.

For other amenities you have to travel to Aberfoyle which is fine although the road is narrow and should be driven with a good deal of caution.

There are many things to do in the area. Lots of walks, places to visit etc.

I hired the lodge for the week leading up to my wife's 40th birthday and in that time we had friends and family come to stay and everyone enjoyed it immensely.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this property, the owners have taken care to prepare it to a very high standard.

5 star rating“AMAZING HOUSE, AMAZING LOCATION......A MUST VISIT!!” 12 friends and I have just returned from a 3 night break at Stronachlachar Lodge to celebrate my 30th Birthday. We booked it months and months ago and we were so excited when the day was finally here to pack up and head off. It certainley did not dissapoint.

The house is fantastic. Its huge with a beautiful grand staircase and lovely big landings and the rooms are great. The beds are very comfy with the goose feather duvets and pillows, the towels are fluffy and there is literally every utensil and dish you could need in the kitchen when cooking for a large group. There is a beautiful patio area with a few picnic benches, a bbq and large chimnea which would be fab for summer nights and the log fires in the winter are just lovely.

The windy road to the house isnt great but when you arrive and drive up the driveway you soon forget about that- especially with the views you have over Loch Katrine.

Graham and Cath were amazing to deal with throughout the whole booking process and Graham could not have been more helpful when I had to contact him on the Saturday to ask about the hot water system.

We book large self catering holidays all the time with family and friends at all different times of the year and I can definatley say we will be back to Stronachlacher Lodge soon.

The one thing I would suggest which would just top everything off would be....a hot tub!! We even talked about maybe hiring one next time haha.

Thanks Graham & Cath!! x
